After a short break in writing blogs to reflect on what is happening, I would like to humbly share with you, in this new blog, some ideas and my personal vision of our present moment.

We first heard about a new virus back in November, it wasn’t taken very seriously, it was in China, very far away, not close to home, so it was not considered our problem. Then we learned it would be affecting the elderly population more aggressively and the immune depressed populations, which gave the majority of the population a false sense of safety. So if you were healthy and strong it would be fine.

The new and unknown virus was not a big concern to the world and China received little or no compassion at all. At first, despite desperate warnings from doctors in China, there were many jokes about the virus and we chose to ignore it.

Then more cases started to appear here and there, people traveling and carrying the virus with them to other places, but the virus still was far to be acknowledged as it should have been.

Economic and political interests seem to be a priority in the world and a hard circle to break, selfishness is a big plague.

Many mistakes were made and precious time was wasted. Thousands of lives are already lost and many more will be. Mistakes can be bad, but refusing to recognize them is even worse. To grow we need to learn and do better.

The world as we know will not be the same anymore, whether we like it or not, but we do have a choice. The new reality is that the whole world is together in this, it doesn’t matter how many cases there are in this or in that country, we have to act as one. We are facing a global situation and if we look deeper and closer we will see that it has always been the case, but we could not really see it until a powerful virus started to kill people everywhere and turn the world upside down.

Now we are all under lock down, self-quarantine and in a lone state of self-isolation, then another big wake up call! It is lone and stressful to isolate, well yes it is a very stressful time, people are losing jobs, money is nowhere to be found, places are closing down, people are fighting everywhere for the last toilet paper roll or for a package of pasta, media work 24 hours a day flooding us with all kinds of information, but the reality is that nobody knows anything for certain. It is hard, almost impossible, to quieten our minds and stay positive, let alone reflect on the present situation, learn and do better since we are all so occupied over-thinking and trying to control what we cannot control.

We are untrained to slow down, to be in our own company, to trust in ourselves and accept the unknown, we find it hard to breathe, to relax and to surrender.

I see this world crisis as an opportunity to reflect on:

How can we learn from this situation and become better human beings? How can we get better mentally and physically? How can we put ourselves first and money concerns second? How can we be united as a whole? How can all the countries work together for a better and healthier world? How can we, as a self-quarantine, make a difference and elevate the energy of the collective world? How can we self-quarantine from social media and the internet for at least 24 hours and detox? How can we listen better to our inner voice, needs and fears? How can we honour and listen to our hearts?

It is a jump into the unknown and it is our choice to act today to create a new better future of health, love.
