More than 50% of my clients complain about strong headaches, it is an important complaint that I would like to talk about.

Let’s first talk about the brain. The brain itself is insensitive, it doesn’t feel pain since there is no interceptors at the brain tissue, however in some situations chemicals released from the blood vessels near the dura and pia mater of the brain can activate interceptors resulting in headaches, such as migraines.

Migraines are a kind of headache that can be acute, troubling and severe, they vary in intensity and they are often accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sounds.

Tension headaches can be from mild to moderate they are accompanied by neck, shoulders and muscle tension. A Tension headache can transform into a migraine.

But what are headaches really? What causes them? Who is more sensitive to them? How do you prevent  or treat them?

Headaches are common affliction and headache medicine has been a multi-billion dollar industry for a long time. Why? Because it is a first call from the body to make us stop and pay attention, it is a body call. But unfortunately, we rarely stop, we just take one or two pills or try a natural remedy and hope for the best. Most of us live our lives with headaches and migraines on and off.

Little children have headaches when they are sick or simple when they are too tired, or too overstimulated, sometimes hungry, dehydrated, or constipated.

Teenagers are big headache and migraine victims, at the teen phase we have a load of hormones coming in, the body needs to adjust to the new realist, this transformations are physically and emotionally and also accompanied by stress.

Stress accompanying us into our adulthood with a lot of physical and emotional demands and so the headaches and migraines follow.

In true we complain a lot about it but we have become accustomed with it and very few of us can pass through life headache free.

My senior clients are the ones who amazingly improve faster than any other ages.

I have worked with all ages and all kinds of people, cause and symptoms vary, I cannot offer one magical solution. Not for my clients neither for myself, but I see how it improves when we really stop and pay attention to what our body is trying to tell us. It may seem simple but it is true.

Yes, there is a lot of healing that can be done by healers and alternative therapies as well as traditional medicine, but all of it is useless if we don’t listen. Pain of any kind, not just headaches, need to be honored. It is there for a reason and as terrible as they seem they are a blessing and a big opportunity to get in deep connection with our amazing bodies and minds!
